Senior Pastor
bobBender_smallDr. Bob Bender has been our pastor since September 2003. He and his wife, and greatest supporter, Beverly, have three married children, each of whom is actively involved in ministry. First Baptist Church is the first Colorado pastorate for this Oklahoma native. He has two degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Worship Pastor
Publication9 (87x120)Jeff Markey came to FBC from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary as he was completing the Master of Music in Church Music degree in the spring of 2015. Jeff and his wife, Grace, have three wonderful kids, Cayla, Josh, and Corinne. Jeff has served churches in Louisiana and New Jersey, where he was born and raised. Jeff is a worship songwriter and loves to share his music with FBC as the Lord allows. His passion is to serve the local church through the music ministry and enjoys playing sports, hiking, and family activities. (jmarkey@fbcbf.org)

Interim Children’s Director
Paula_H (80x120)Paula Hunnemeyer moved to Colorado with her husband, Scott, and their four children in 2011. Since joining First Baptist Church Black Forest she has served in children’s choir, VBS, AWANA, and the youth department. Paula’s desire for children at FBCBF is that they will fall deeply in love with Jesus and His Word and that they will passionately follow Him their whole lives.(phunnemeyer@fbcbf.org)

Student Pastor
mattcrowe_smallMatt Crowe came to serve at FBC in 2008. He has been serving students for the past 10 years. Matt was born and raised in Georgia and is a passionate Bulldogs fan. Matt has served churches in Georgia, Texas, and the British Isles. Matt is in love with his beautiful wife Kristen. They are the proud parents of a daughter and son. College & Career Pastor
mattmorton_smallMatt Morton was born and raised in Colorado Springs. He has been serving students since 2000 and has served at FBC since 2005. He and his beautiful bride Trisha have a son and daughter. He enjoys the outdoors, the Broncos, and the never ending Ultimate Frisbee games with his students. Missions Pastor
scottpeck_smallScott Peck and Jennifer have three children. They have had a heart for missions since leading with Campus Crusade for Christ in college. Their passion for overseas missions was seasoned by seven years living overseas, serving in leadership positions in numerous churches and ministries. They now both serve with Engineering Ministries International. Scott and Jennifer aspire to someday serve as long-term, cross-cultural missionaries to bring the Good News to an unreached people group in an anti-access area. (amazed247@gmail.com)

Pastoral Care Pastor
larrykauffman_small Larry Kauffman was born and raised in Texas. He and his wife, Irene, have been members of FBC since 2005 and they have three married children. Larry has served as a layman in churches in Texas and Colorado since he was in high school. His passion and privilege is assisting the senior pastor in serving the body of Christ. (larkau@msn.com)

Family Pastor
Lance McDowell was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He and his wife Mary Beth, from Auburn, Alabama, and four boys, have been a part of the FBC family since 2007.  Lance is bi-vocational as he is a full time member of the Colorado Air National Guard. They realize, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.”  Their desire is to come alongside the families of FBC and encourage them in their pursuit of a closer relationship with Jesus. Volunteer Prayer Coordinators
Keith & Joan Anderson web (95x120)Keith & Joan Anderson grew up in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Northern CO in 1970 and to CS in 2012. Both are retired teachers (JH Science; and elementary grades for Joan). Their two children are married, with both of their families living in CO. They are active in the lives of their 4 grandchildren. They feel privileged to serve God and our church through coordinating the prayer ministry and have seen how God has been preparing them for this over the years.
