Dr. Bob Bender has been our pastor since September 2003. He and his wife, and greatest supporter, Beverly, have three married children, each of whom is actively involved in ministry. First Baptist Church is the first Colorado pastorate for this Oklahoma native. He has two degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Pastor Bender has been in ministry since graduating from High School.
Jeff Rogers was raised in Colorado, and has two adult sons in Denver. He and his wife Cheryl joined FBC in the spring of 2012 when Jeff graduated from Golden Gate Seminary. Jeff has a passion for meeting children on their level, and assisting parents where ever he can. Jeff’s favorite things include watching the Avalanche, fishing, and talking to kids about Jesus.
Matt Crowe came to serve at FBC in 2008. He has been serving students for the past 10 years. Matt was born and raised in Georgia and is a passionate Bulldogs fan. Matt has served churches in Georgia, Texas, and the British Isles. Matt is in love with his beautiful wife Kristen. They are the proud parents of a daughter and son. The great joy of his life is hanging out with students and serving the body of Christ.
Matt Morton was born and raised in Colorado Springs. He has been serving students since 2000 and has served at FBC since 2005. He and his beautiful bride Trisha have a son and daughter. He enjoys the outdoors, the Broncos, and the never ending Ultimate Frisbee games with his students. He is passionate about helping students and their families grow closer to God and to each other.
Scott Peck and Jennifer have three children. They have had a heart for missions since leading with Campus Crusade for Christ in college. Their passion for overseas missions was seasoned by seven years living overseas, serving in leadership positions in numerous churches and ministries. They now both serve with Engineering Ministries International. Scott and Jennifer aspire to someday serve as long-term, cross-cultural missionaries to bring the Good News to an unreached people group in an anti-access area.
Forrest Hindley earned his Master of Divinity from Talbot Theological Seminary in 1980, with an emphasis in Christian Education and Family Ministries. He has pastored in churches large and small, including a California church plant, with a mission to “equip the saints for the work of the Ministry” (Ephesians 4:12). Forrest shepherds our adult LIFE Groups, adult education, and care groups. He and his wife Debby have raised 3 grown children who love and serve the Lord.
Larry Kauffman was born and raised in Texas. He and his wife, Irene, have been members of FBC since 2005 and they have three married children. Larry has served as a layman in churches in Texas and Colorado since he was in high school. His passion and privilege is assisting the senior pastor in serving the body of Christ.
Lance McDowell was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He and his wife Mary Beth, from Auburn, Alabama, and four boys, have been a part of the FBC family since 2007. Lance is bi-vocational as he is a full time member of the Colorado Air National Guard. They realize, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” Their desire is to come alongside the families of FBC and encourage them in their pursuit of a closer relationship with Jesus.
